In preparation for Prom weekend, ROWVA High School will be performing a crash scene reenactment with local first responders tomorrow morning. We wanted to make you aware in the event that you see or hear the first responders coming to the school tomorrow. Thank you for your continued support of our programs and allowing us to serve you and your children.
ROWVA Elementary's Color Run-a-Thon is Friday! A few reminders:
*Parents and Sponsors can head straight to the bleachers to cheer on the students, no need to check in at the office. 👋
*Make sure to dress your student in appropriate clothes and shoes, as they will be sprayed with color and running on the track! ❤️💙💛🖤🤍💜🧡💚

Congratulations to Coach Gullstrand who was awarded the Semper Fi Coaching Award after being nominated by someone within the community. Grant's dedication to developing leaders both on and off the football field, his dedication to giving to our community, and his display of the Marine motto of Semper Fidelis -- Always Faithful has led to this deserving award.
Congratulations to Wes Anderson, ROWVA's JH/HS music teacher on his Award of Meritorious Service in the Early Career Educator category from ISBE. Wes has been a great addition to our faculty, and we look forward to the continued growth he will bring to our program.

As road conditions have improved, all athletic events for today, January 19, are on as planned. Parents, if you are not comfortable with your children traveling today, that is fine. All of our coaches will be understanding of this. Please just communicate with your coach if your child cannot make it to the scheduled practice or contest.

The staff appreciation dinner, girls golf and cheerleading banner ceremony have all been moved to Friday, February 9th.

In between the JV and varsity game, we will honor the 2023 competive cheer team for qualifying for the IHSA state championships as well as the 2023 RW girls golf team for qulaifying for sectionals!

Wrestling updates for this coming week (week of 1/15):
No HS triangular with Orion and Putnam County on Monday, 1/15.
We will add a triangular to serve as senior night on Monday, 1/22 instead.
East Peoria has canceled the girls triangular for Tuesday as well.
Athletic schedule updates for January 10:
HS GBB-- no game, no practice
JHBKB/JH Cheer-- no game, no practice
Var BKB/Cheer- Game still on, @ Peoria Heights, bus time remains the same--kids are allowed to ride to game with parents if desired
JVBKB- practice in rowva elementary, 3:30-5:15, bus from WF @ 3
HS wrestle- practice in rowva caf, 3:30-5:15 bus from WF @ 3
JH wrestle- practice in rowva caf, 5:30-7:00 bus from WF @ 4:50
JHVB- practice in rowva hs gym, 3:30-5:15, bus from WF @ 3
Breakfast for Thursday, January 11th will be cereal, breakfast bar, fruit, juice, and milk. The lunch menu will remain the same.
Due to the predicted forecast, all extracurricular games and practices for this evening are cancelled. No call has been made for school tomorrow yet.
JH wrestling and JH volleyball are cancelled for tonight. No practice for either.
